For the ‘Hush Hush’ stage at the Contrair Open Air festival at Noordkasteel in Antwerp, a temporary scaffolding structure creates an enclosed dancefloor. As the festival takes place for only one night, the structure is designed to be lightweight and easily assembled. Located near the main entrance, the stage sits between two rows of tall trees that form a natural roof.

The U-shaped stage takes its layout from the nearby port’s dry docks, with high, sloped walls and a gate for ships and water. This logic translates into two long walkways and a wide staircase closing the structure at one end. The DJ booth is located underneath the staircase, while the staircase itself functions as a gathering space near the entrance.

The walkways frame the dancefloor and are covered in white, translucent fabric, creating a cozy, club-like atmosphere beneath the trees. At the far end, an opening forms the main access point, allowing visitors to flow into the stage like water filling a dry dock.
